(Stillwater, OK)- The No. 4 Hawkeyes ride into Stillwater and battle a tough duel to hand the No. 2 Cowboys their first duel loss of the season. Winning seven of the ten bouts on the night, Iowa takes the win in Oklahoma 22-9 for the first win at Oklahoma State since 2015. With the first loss of the season, Oklahoma State now sits at 14-1 while Iowa is 13-2 this season.
Scoring would be a huge factor in this dual as the Hawks picked up 11 takedowns and 62 match points on the night compared to the Cowboys’ five takedowns and 32 match points. It’d be a heavyweight match between the two teams as they would trade decision victories back and forth through the first five matches until Michael Caliendo at 165lbs and Patrick Kennedy at 174lbs picked up two wins following Jared Franck’s rebuttal win at 157lbs. The duel would end with an upset as Iowa’s Ben Kueter defeated Oklahoma State’s No. 11 Konner Doucet at 285lbs with a 5-1 decision.
