(Ames, IA) – Iowa State’s Audi Crooks has continued to see a multitude of successes during her freshman campaign as she was named the Big XII Freshman of the Week for her performance in their 76-68 win over Oklahoma State. This is the second time this season that Crooks has been named as the Big XII Freshman of the Week.
The Iowa native led the Cyclones with 21 points and went 9-14 from the field, making her third 20-point game over the span of her career. The freshman also went perfect at the charity stripe, going 3-3 in the game against the Cowgirls. Crooks helped to carry Iowa to their seventh-consecutive conference opener win and fourth straight win this season.
Crooks is leading all Division I freshmen in field goal percentage this season and is averaging 16.5 points per game. She also ranks second on the team in rebounds with six per game.
Iowa State returns to action tonight when they take on Kansas for their first conference home game this year at 6:00 p.m. Their following game will be on Saturday, January 6th against BYU at 5:00 p.m.
