(Corning) A man is in custody in Adams County on multiple warrants for failure to appear and additional drug possession charges.
The Adams County Sheriff’s Office arrested 61-year old Ricardo Alphonso Avila on Wednesday night in the 600 block of B Street in Carbon, Iowa. Deputies arrested Avila on ten Adams County warrants for Failure to Appear. In addition to that, Officers charged Avila with possession of a controlled substance (Methamphetamine) and possession of a controlled substance (Marijuana). Authorities transported Avila to the Adams County Jail and held him on a $5,000 cash bond.
In a separate case, Adams County Deputies arrested 40-year old Heather Fay Scarberry of Creston on Tuesday during a traffic stop at Highway 34 and Poplar Avenue for OWI 1st offense. Officers also cited Scarberry for speeding and open container. Deputies transported Scarberry to the Adams County Jail and held her on no bond.
