(Atlantic) On Thursday, the Harlan girls placed all five scoring runners in the top 20 and captured the team title at the Atlantic Cross Country Invitational at the Nishna Hills Golf Course.
The Cyclones, led by freshman Lindsay Sonderman won the meet with 52 points. Sonderman outdistanced the pack of 102 runners in a time of 19:42.20. Kia Bieker finished third, and Quincey Schneckloth, Kayla Anderson, and Ellie Gross finished 15th, 16th, and 17th.
Glenwood finished second with 75-points, Clarinda, 3rd, 98, Winterset, 4th, 122, ADM, 5th, 124, and Atlantic finished 6th with 138-points.
Dual-sport athlete Ava Rush of Atlantic had a busy night. The junior finished fourth overall and motored to Winterset after the meet to play for the Trojan volleyball team. Rush finished with a time of 20:13.70. Claire Pellett crossed the finish line in 13th place, Belle Berg, 32nd, Addie DeArment, 43rd, and Faith Altman was 46th. Claire Wiederstein, 64th, and Aspen Niklasen, 72nd.
