(Winterset) A Creston man was convicted by a jury in Madison County Tuesday of the crimes of Murder in the First Degree and Robbery in the First Degree.
The Madison County Attorney’s Office says the trial information filed by the State of Iowa alleged that on July 21, 2020, 42-year-old Gerald Parker killed Jonathan Michael Hoffman on Macksburg Road in Madison County.
A delivery driver found Hoffman face down at the intersection of Grandview Trail & Macksburg Road in rural Madison County at around 3:30 PM on July 21st.
The jury trial was held at the Jackson Building at the Madison County fairgrounds as an alternate site to allow for social distancing and COVID-19 security. The trial began on February 2nd and ended on February 9th.
