(Ames, IA) — One of the most intriguing transfers to come to Iowa St. football this year is Offensive Lineman Jake Taylor. The Junior from Oklahoma was recently unanimously voted as one of the Cyclones captains by the players which he says is a great honor but its something he was shooting for
Taylor was on and off the field at Oklahoma — he saw 8 games as a back up right guard in 2022; four games as a reserve in 2023; started four games at right tackle in 2024 and did not play last year. He suffered from various injuries and had to deal with illnesses in his family. He says he has been through the trials and tribulations
Taylor is slated to start at Left Tackle; Caden Maas a Junior transfer from Sioux Falls is the leader to start at Left Guard; Colin Amick a transfer from Montana at Right Guard; Sophomore Braden Smith a transfer from Tarleton St. at Center and the only returner is Garret Rutledge who played Special Teams last year for ISU is the leader to start at Right Tackle. Taylor says he loves what this O Line can do
Iowa St. opens their season on September 5 hosting Southeast Missouri; coverage all season long on KSOM.
