(Atlantic) The Atlantic football team is in its second week of official practice.
The only starter returning for the Trojans in the defensive backfield is Grant Petty. Petty had 33 tackles; 26 of them were solo tackles one year ago.
Atlantic Head Football Coach Joe Brummer says the senior juggles many different things and is taking on a leadership role.
Coach Brummer says Zander Killion, Landon Hagen, and Ashton Rutherford are three others who appear to be coming up through the ranks to replace Shelton Mualia and Hunter Nelson.
Coach Brummer says the team has a deep room of kickers. All-District and All-State punter Zander Killion returns after averaging 40 yards per punt one year ago.
The Trojans scrimmage Shenandoah on Friday and open up on the road at Glenwood on August 28.
