(Atlantic) Atlantic Head Boys’ Golf Coach Kendra Henningsen is stepping down after three seasons leading the Trojan program. Henningsen took over as Atlantic Head Coach in 2024 and quickly made her mark on the program.
Henningsen’s coaching tenure in Atlantic included a memorable 2025 season, when she guided the Trojans to the Hawkeye Ten Conference Tournament championship and a Class 3A state tournament appearance.
Her 2026 season provided another successful chapter for Atlantic boys’ golf, including a Hawkeye Ten Conference Title, a third-place finish at the district tournament, and a fourth-place finish at the Class 3A State Golf Tournament.
The Atlantic School District will need to search for a new Head Softball Coach and a new Head Boys’ Golf Coach after the school board accepted the resignations of longtime Head Softball Coach Terry Hinzmann and Kendra Henningsen at Wednesday’s School Board Meeting.
