(Harlan, IA) — The Harlan baseball team got their biggest win of the season on Thursday, beating rival Lewis Central 4-1 to improve to 7-3 on the season. Gavin Sisson had a no hitter into the 6th inning; Harrison Kjergaard delivered a 2 run double to beat the Titans. Pitching wise, Head Coach Heath Stein is far from satisfied saying there have been far too many walks. The Cyclones pitchers have 50 on the season which is 5 per game and 64 strikeouts. Still Jonas Reynolds (1.08 ERA), Gavin Eck (3.23 ERA) and Sisson (3.18 ERA) have done their job as starters
Offensively, there are no complaints. Harlan is hitting .299 as a club led by Kjergaard at .382, 1 HR, 8 RBI; Schneider is at .355, 1 HR, 10 RBI; four different players have driven in 10 runs and another is at 9 and another is at 8 — Stein likes the balance
Foxx Argotsinger had a night to remember when he hit 3 home runs in one game in a 20-11 win over Creston
Harlan will host Glenwood in a DH today; will try to avenge an earlier loss to Denison Schleswig on Thursday and will go to Fort Dodge on Saturday to play Ballard and Spencer.
