(Des Moines) The National Weather Service in Des Moines says thunderstorm chances will increase from west to east this evening into the overnight hours. A few strong storms may occur, particularly in southern Iowa. Large hail and damaging winds are possible. Locally heavy rainfall may also occur during this time.
Strong to severe thunderstorms are expected on Monday with all severe hazards possible. The highest intensity storms are expected in the afternoon hours in eastern Iowa.
