(Atlantic) Estherville-Lincoln Central broke a 2-2 tie with two runs in the top of the seventh inning and held Atlantic scoreless in the bottom half to earn a 4-2 non-conference win Friday afternoon.
The Midgets collected 10 hits and scored four runs. Rylee Yager led the way with a single, double, triple, and one RBI. Cora Schiltz added a double and a single, while Haylee Stokes tallied a double, single, and executed two sacrifice bunts. Hillary Ruschy, Kyleigh Schneider, and Addison Hooge each contributed singles.
Atlantic managed two runs on five hits. Makenna Schroeder had two singles and an RBI. Lila Wiederstein tripled, and Zoey Kirchhoff drove in a run with a single.
Estherville-Lincoln Central jumped out to an early lead with two runs in the top of the first inning. Cora Schiltz opened the game with a double, scored on Rylee Yager’s triple, and Yager came home on a sacrifice bunt by Haylee Stokes.
Atlantic responded quickly in the bottom half. Lila Wiederstein led off with a triple and scored on Makenna Schroeder’s RBI single. Zoey Kirchhoff followed with a run-scoring single to tie the game at 2-2.
The Midgets loaded the bases in the top of the second but couldn’t push a run across. After that, Yager found her rhythm in the circle, retiring 11 straight Trojans. Jillian Saathoff broke up the stretch with a single in the fourth.
ELC regained the lead in the top of the seventh. Yager led off with a double, and Stokes followed with another to bring her in. Hillary Ruschy added a key insurance run with an RBI single. Yager then closed the game by retiring Atlantic in order in the bottom of the seventh, securing a 4-2 victory.

The Trojans took on Carlisle in their third game of the night, but the Wildcats stayed hot after an 11-2 win over Estherville-Lincoln Central, rolling past the Trojans 7-1.
Carlisle tallied seven runs on 11 hits. Alysaa Freeman, led the Wildcats with a double, and a single, and Claire Benson went 2-4 with a single, and a double.
The Trojans scored one run on five hits. Zoey Kichhoff drilled a triple, Lila Wiederstein, Dylin Ball, Jillian Saathoff, and McKenna Sonntag each hit singles.
Mira Heideman put Carlisle on the board early, driving in Logan Brown in the first inning. Brown added an RBI in the third, Claire Benson scored on an error, and Mallie Stoner knocked in another run in the fourth to give the Wildcats a 4-0 lead.
The Trojans answered in the bottom of the fourth when Zoey Kirchhoff ripped a triple and scored on Dylin Ball’s groundout, making it 4-1.
Carlisle padded the lead in the sixth as Benson doubled and came home on a ground ball. In the seventh, Freeman singled with one out, Lafollette-Brown followed with an RBI double, and Alyssa Eginoire drove in another run to make it 7-1.
The Trojans tried to rally in the bottom of the seventh with singles from Ball and Jillian Saathoff, but both were stranded as Carlisle closed out the win.
