(Creston, IA) – Southwestern Community College has announced that Cassidy Nelson and Brooklyn Hadl have been named to Iowa Community College Athletic Conference honors for their performances throughout the 2023-24 women’s basketball season.
Cassidy Nelson, the former guard from Lenox High School was named Third Team All-Region. She averaged 13.7 points and 6.5 rebounds per game, showcasing her impact on the floor as a redshirt sophomore. Nelson also was a key factor in the three-point game for the Spartans this season, shooting 31% from beyond the arc and shooting 73.2% from the charity stripe. Brooklyn Hadl also received recognition for her performance on the hardwood this season. The Kansas native averaged 12.8 points and 6.4 boards per game this season while shooting 30.1% from the field.
These two continue to be the driving forces for a young Spartans program, one that finished 8-23 on the season and 6-14 in conference action, one of their best records since the 2020-21 season when they went 12-11.
