(Iowa City, IA)- Sources have confirmed that Hawkeyes’ star cornerback and punt returner Cooper DeJean will not be participating in this year’s NFL Combine. It was first reported by NFL Draft analyst for The Athletic, Dane Brugler, that DeJean was out and would perform workouts for teams closer to draft weekend. This likely means an Iowa Pro-Day appearance and/or private workouts for the projected first round pick.
DeJean is currently nursing back from a lower leg injury sustained in early November of 2023, ruling him out for the rest of the season. The Iowa native was named unanimous consensus All-American, Bronko Nagurski Trophy and Jim Thorpe Award finalist, Tatum-Woodson Big Ten Defensive Back of the Year, and Rodgers-Dwight Big Ten Return Specialist of the Year.
