(Elk Horn, IA) – While coming out to a three-point loss to #5 ACGC after the break, the Spartans played with some of the top talent in the state. Exira-EHK earned the loss with a few mistakes along the way both offensively and defensively as Head Coach Tony Santisteban wants to see his boys clean up their game for the remainder of the week.
Exira-EHK has been able to stay in games this season due to their excellent ball movement among the team while shooting 51.1% from the field this season. The Spartans have also fared well from the charity stripe, shooting 79.2% this season. On any night, anybody can lead on the scoresheet for the Spartans.
Speaking of team leaders, the Spartans are led this season by Cash Emgarten and Aiden Flathers who have been two crucial players to this Spartan team. Exira-EHK is not alone this week in their struggle to get a game in while also trying to just hit the hardwood for practices due to Mother Nature bringing on the snow. Regardless of that, the Spartans are looking to get back into play tonight against Boyer Valley. The Bulldogs returned from the break with a buzzer-beating three-pointer against MVAOCOU while losing to West Harrison the following night. While Exira-EHK beat them 84-31 earlier this season, the Spartans are taking this game as if Boyer Valley was undefeated.
