(Atlantic) Atlantic School Superintendent Dr. Beth Johnsen confirmed to KSOM/KS95 News that Atlantic High School Principal Heather McKay requested a transfer to the English Department. Dr. Johnsen stated, “I think Heather misses the classroom and is ready to return to teaching.”
Heather McKay began her career as an English teacher and transitioned into educational administration, serving as the principal of Atlantic High School, alongside Assistant Principal Andrew Mitchell, who handles activities and other administrative duties. McKay’s leadership role included managing the school’s academic programs, staff, and student services.
Heather McKay announced her intentions to the High School Staff on Thursday afternoon.
