(Elk Horn, IA) – Exira-EHK wins a blowout game in Elk Horn as the Spartans earn an 84-31 win over Boyer Valley. The Spartans started off the game with a quick-tempo offense and continued to hold that offense throughout the entire game. Head coach Tony Santistaben was proud to see his offense flow fluently in the game with Aiden Flathers and Cash Emgarten. Flathers unofficially had 23 points while Emgarten had 16 on the night. Coach Santistaben is still looking for the defense to be an even more important factor in games this year.
One thing that Exira-EHK struggled with in the game was communication. There were multiple looks down low for Exira-EHK where they missed Jackson Radcliff as well as Cash Emgarten which could have been even more points on the scoreboard for the Spartans. It is early in the season, and the communication will only come with more time.
Looking ahead for Exira-EHK, the Spartans will be taking on Glidden-Ralston, a tough place for the Spartans to play. Coach Santistaben is looking for the defensive end to get the game going while making the game plan this weekend to prepare for the Wildcats.
Exira-EHK plays against Glidden-Ralston this upcoming Tuesday, December 5th at 7:30.
