(Clarinda, IA) – Clarinda is heading into week three with a two-game winning streak and looks to continue that streak against Treynor. After last week’s 56-0 victory over Red Oak, the Cardinals have now only given up seven points in two games of play. They are currently outscoring their opponents 102-7 in their last two games, and coach Hanafan has been proud of his team so far. Clarinda is running on all cylinders and that is because every piece of the puzzle is fitting together.
While relying on the running game, the Cardinals were led by Dominick Posley as he rushed for 145 yards and earned four touchdowns while averaging 7.6 yards per carry in the game against the Tigers. He relies on his offensive line and his physicality in his rushing game.
Cardinal Caleb Shane had the only sack in the last game for Clarinda while also earning 2.5 tackles in the game. The freshman has continued to get better every game, and coach Hanafan has seen improvement in him every day.
Clarinda will be taking on another Cardinal team against Treynor who has only given up six points so far this season defensively. Clarinda is looking to see improvement in their ball security and go at Treynor will everything they have.
The Cardinals are looking at Treynor’s Karson Elwood and Jace Tams as both of them play a very tight defensive secondary. Clarinda is looking to do their job to not only stop them but push forward on offense.
Clarinda will travel to Treynor in the battle of the Cardinals under the Friday night lights at 7:00 p.m.
