(Massena) The Massena City Council approved a street improvement project on Monday night. The City Council held a public hearing on the project before the regular meeting.
Councilman Doug Venteicher says the project’s total cost is around $1.3 million. “Construction will be from the Medical Clinic to the City Limits, on the east side of town.”
Venteicher says the project consists of widening the concrete poured farm-to-market roadway. The project is funded with Tax Increment Finance money.
The City Council also approved the Low-to-Moderate Income housing improvement project bid. The goal of this project is to keep improving the houses in town. Venteicher says this program pays residents $15,000 per home by T.I.F. money. He says between ten to fifteen homes have been upgraded in Massena through this incentive program.
