(Atlantic) A 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony was held at Atlantic City Park on Friday afternoon, marking the 25th anniversary of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks that claimed nearly 3,000 lives and changed the course of American history.
Leonard Kinney, Commander of American Legion Post #43 in Atlantic, compared Pearl Harbor and 9/11.
Kinney stated the 9/11 impact of the collapse of the towers was one hour and forty-two minutes.
Leonard also recognized the passengers of Flight #93, who attempted to take over the plane.
Atlantic Mayor Rob Clausen remembers his first reaction following the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001.
The ceremony concluded with a reminder that while the events of September 11, 2001, are now part of history, the lives lost and the sacrifices made that day should never be forgotten.
