(Harlan) The Harlan Fire Department responded to a fire at Bomgaars in Harlan Friday morning.
According to department officials, Shelby County EMA/911 received a call at 7:01 a.m. reporting a fire at Bomgaars, located at 2902 23rd Street.
Acting Fire Chief Bruce Blum said employees inside the building reported the fire. Shelby County Sheriff’s deputies arrived and ensured the building was evacuated before using fire extinguishers to begin fighting the fire.
Harlan Fire, Westphalia Fire, Portsmouth Fire, Avoca Fire, Denison Fire, Shelby County Ambulance and HMU also responded.
The fire was fully extinguished without further incident.
