(Adair Co) Two men were arrested for Burglary in Adair County.
On July 7th, law enforcement officers were conducting physical surveillance of a Dodge Charger with Texas plates in the Greenfield area. The driver was later identified as 31-year-old James Dionte Hood, of College Station, Texas. During the surveillance, officers observed a male passenger, later identified as 31-year-old Daron Bernard Livingston, of Houston, Texas, get dropped off in the area of Nucara Pharmacy and Hood parked the Charger in the parking lot of Union State bank and stayed inside of the vehicle. Livingston cut a hole into the west wall of the pharmacy and made entry. As one group of officers approached the pharmacy, another group approached Hood while inside of the charger. Officers knew that Hood had an outstanding warrant through the State of Nebraska for burglary of a pharmacy on June 3rd. Hood was taken into custody. Hood also had an ankle monitor for being on probation through the Texas Department of Corrections on a drug related conviction.
As officers approached the pharmacy, Livingston eluded officers on foot out of the emergency exit at the back door. The key holder was contacted and met officers at the front of the building. Officers made entry into the building and found that the pharmacy area had been breached from inside. Officers found a bag containing several burglary tools. It appeared that the suspect had left the pharmacy area before any drugs were taken. A complete inventory will be done by the pharmacist.
Livingston was observed walking down a street and attempted to elude officers on foot. After being given commands to stop running or he was going to be bit by a K9, Livingston went to his knees with his hands in the air. Livingston also had an ankle monitor and was out on bail from Harris County, Texas for murder. He also had keys in his possession to a suspect vehicle that was left in the area. Livingston was charged with Burglary 3rd Degree, Possession of Burglary Tools, Interference with Official Acts, and Ongoing Criminal Conduct. He was held on the Adair County Jail on $100,000 bond.
Hood aided and abetted in this burglary. He was charged with Burglary 3rd Degree, Possession of Burglary Tools and Ongoing Criminal Conduct. He was held in the Adair County Jail on $32,000 cash only bond for the Nebraska arrest warrant and $100,000 cash only bond for the Adair County charges.
It was also noted that on the early morning of July 6th, Special Agent in Charge Mike Mittan with the Division of Narcotic Enforcement and other agents had information that Hood and Livingston were in Red Oak casing out the Medicap Pharmacy. They took off from the area. Special agent Mittan received further information that after they left the Red Oak area, they drove to Stoner’s Honeyman Drug Store in Villisca. The Charger then drove south towards Missouri. Officers discontinued surveillance when the vehicle left the State of Iowa.
