(Anita) The CAM School Board voted 3-2 to house the single section of kindergarten students next school year in Massena.
Currently, there are two sections, one group of students at the north elementary building in Anita and the other section at the south elementary facility in Massena.
Schools Superintendent Paul Croghan says based on the preschool numbers, only one section or 15 Kindergarten students are projected to enter the district next school year.
Julie Williamson, Mike Plagman, and Todd McKee voted to house the Kindergarten section at the South Elementary Facility in Massena. Cara Murphy, and Chuck Kinze, voted to house the unit in Anita.
Additionally, the board approved the contracts for the certified staff resulting in a two-year deal for a three-percent package increase each year, or a $180,040.00 total increase for the first year.
The board also discussed the fiscal year 2023 budget with a levy rate of 9.9159 per $1,000 of valuation, down .60 cents from one year ago.
The school board also accepted the resignation of Art teacher Dana Kunze, half-time physical education instructor, Jennifer Weisenborn, Middle School Education instructors, Danika Kentner and Samantha Rosenbeck, and Ag Instructor, and FFA Advisory Gary Miller.
