(Harlan) The Shelby County Board of Supervisors set March 29 at 9:00 a.m. for a public hearing on the Fiscal Year 2023 budget.
This week, the Board of Supervisors held a public hearing on the proposed maximum property tax dollars for General County Services and Rural County Services for the fiscal year 2023 not to exceed four-million-852-thousand-999-dollars. Rural County Services will not exceed two-million-400-thousand-dollars.
Shelby County Auditor Mark Maxwell says the maximum property tax dollars requested in General County Services will be limited to 107.94 percent. Rural County Services for FY2023 represents a maximum increase of 105-percent from the Property Tax dollars requested in FY2022.
The board approved the proposal and set March 29 for a public hearing on the budget.
