(Atlantic) A resident of Allen Place in Atlantic reached another milestone this week. Ruby Wortman celebrated her 105th birthday on Tuesday, February 9.
Ruby was born and raised on the family farm in Adair County. She recalls the massive snowstorms that occurred in the mid-1930’s.
Ruby remembers the depression and recalls her family traveling to the county seat for food.
Ruby lives by the motto…..
Ruby’s seven children Darlene, Donna, Denise, Diana, Delores, Bob, and Ron, are still with her today. And the family still has the family farm where Ruby enjoyed milking cows, taking care of the chickens and horses, and sewing, amongst many other things.
