(Atlantic) The Cass County Board of Supervisors this morning approved a resolution establishing priorities for property tax exemption for natural conservation or wildlife areas following a public hearing. There were no written or oral comments during the hearing.
Supervisors Chairman Steve Baier said the resolution states that the Cass County Board of Supervisors shall establish priorities for the granting of property tax exemptions for natural conservation or wildlife areas pursuant Iowa Code and shall establish the limitations on the acreage allowed to be exempted. The current list of priorities has changed from the prior year and the total acreage designated as exempt for Fiscal Year 2021 does not exceed the total limitations set of 3,000 acres.
Baier said the resolution also states that if applications for the above classes of habitat does not exceed the 3,000 acres limit all applications shall be granted providing that they meet all necessary requirements.
