(Council Bluffs) A man was taken into custody hours after he barricaded himself at a construction site Friday afternoon.
At around 10:55 a.m. on Friday Law Enforcement Officer’s attempted to execute an arrest warrant on a fugitive at a construction site at East Kanesville and Baughn St in Council Bluffs. The suspect barricaded himself inside of a piece of construction equipment. A section of East Kanesville was closed from So. 1st St. to Frank St. and a detour route for traffic was established on East Broadway.
Officers took the fugitive into custody at around 6:45 p.m. on Friday. Authorities transported the man to a local hospital for injuries sustained during the incident. The man had felony warrants through Nebraska and will be booked for those charges at a later time.
