(Des Moines, IA) — Iowa’s unemployment rate held steady at 3.2% for the fifth consecutive month. Beth Townsend, Executive Director of Iowa Workforce Development, says that’s an encouraging sign for the state’s workforce and overall economy.
Townsend says two key industries have now reached their highest employment levels ever recorded in the state.
She says the steady unemployment rate suggests Iowa’s economy remains stable and that, for the most part, employers are finding the workers they need. There are still more than 60,000 available jobs across Iowa.
