(Cumberland) The National Weather Service in Des Moines has confirmed that an EF-0 tornado occurred in Cass County, south of Cumberland, on Friday evening.
Mostly tree and outbuilding damage occurred along the path. The tornado moved slowly eastward prior to turning northward, before dissipating.
The estimated peak winds were 85 mph. The tornado path length was 2.30 miles. The maximum width of the tornado was 25 yards. There were no injuries or deaths.
