(Greenfield) A Fontanelle man is being held in the Adair County Jail on a $500,000 bond after his arrest on multiple felony charges tied to incidents reported on April 11 and April 14.
According to the Adair County Sheriff’s Office, 34-year-old Dalton James Cormeny was taken into custody on April 29 on an Adair County warrant. He faces 12 felony charges, including three counts of willful injury causing bodily injury, two counts of possession of a firearm or offensive weapon by a felon, and four counts of possession of a firearm or offensive weapon by a domestic abuse offender. Additional charges include first-degree harassment involving threats, false imprisonment, and assault causing bodily injury or mental illness. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 11.
In a separate case, Greenfield Police arrested 55-year-old Robert Charles Hughes of Greenfield on an Adair County warrant for a sex offender registry violation related to a prohibited area or activity. Authorities say Hughes was observed on the grounds of Nodaway Valley Elementary School on April 14. He told officers he was there to drop off his daughter. Hughes was held on a $5,000 cash or surety bond before being released on April 29.
Two people from Illinois face drug possession charges following a traffic stop on Interstate 80 near Stuart on May 2. Stuart Police arrested 27-year-old Julianna Lorene Riggins of Yelm, Washington, around 12:20 p.m. She faces charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance (third or subsequent offense), first-offense marijuana possession, and two counts of child endangerment. Authorities arrested 36-year-old Coba Palmer Jr. of Chicago, Illinois, on similar charges, including possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance (third or subsequent offense), first-offense marijuana possession, and two counts of child endangerment. He also faces an additional charge of unlawful possession of a prescription drug. Both Riggins and Palmer were being held in the Adair County Jail on $5,000 bond.
Additionally, on April 28, Adair County deputies arrested 41-year-old Derik Wayne Bud Pickrell of Fontanelle for violating a no-contact order. He was later released after posting a $300 cash-only bond.
