(Bondurant) The Iowa State Patrol investigated a car versus motorcycle accident on Highway 65 and Hawthorne Crossing in Polk County on Sunday.
According to the state police, the accident happened at 2:51 p.m. The injured are identified as the motorcycle driver, 45-year-old Jacob Flannery, of Colfax, his passenger, 36-year-old Sharon Bittner, of Bondurant, and 27-year-old Ana Kirkpatrick, of Bondurant.
According to the report, a 2015 Nissan Altima driven by 27-year-old Ana Kirkpatrick, entering Highway 34 from Hawthorne Crossing with intentions to travel southbound, made contact with a 2014 Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by Flannery traveling northbound on Highway 65.
Bondurant EMS transported Bittner to IMMC in Des Moines with life-threatening injuries. Bondurant EMS transported Flannery to IMMC in Des Moines with serious injuries, and Altoona EMS transferred Kirkpatrick to IMMC in Des Moines with minor injuries.
