(Atlantic) Sarah Trone Garriott, Democratic candidate for Iowa’s 3rd Congressional District, made a campaign stop in Atlantic Saturday afternoon.
Sarah is a Minister, State Senator, Nonprofit Leader and a mother.
Sarah said it wasn’t her plan to run for Congress, but after the last election, she became concerned about the direction the country was heading.
She said it has already started, as a clinic in Ottumwa has closed.
Sarah Trone Garriott said she is against getting rid of the Affordable Care Act.
She also spoke about the tariffs and how they have negatively impacted the farm economy and increased the cost of living for families. She said there is no benefit to the tariffs.
Another point she made was that a new and chaotic development making life harder for many people is President Trump’s war in Iran.
Sarah Trone Garriott also noted that she supports term limits, believes stock trading should be prohibited among elected officials, and said they need to get the big money out of elections. She added that it is important for elected leaders to show up and be present for the people they serve.
She ended her campaign stop with this message.
