(Red Oak) The Atlantic boy’s golf team competes today at Red Oak for a trip to the State Golf Tournament. The Trojans enter district competition with a runner-up finish last week in a sectional golf tournament at the Atlantic Golf and Country Club. ADM topped the field with a 294, Atlantic finished second with a 305, and Glenwood advanced with a third-place finish of 323. Gilbert, Ballard, and Nevada also advanced out of the Gilbert Sectional Tournament to the District meet, shooting 287, 300, and 308, respectively.
Atlantic Head Coach Kendra Henningsen says the competition will be tough, but the team will be alright as long as it plays steadily.
Individuals competing in the District Tournament Today include Weston Couse – Red Oak, Ty Haisman, North Polk, Jonas Reynolds, Harlan, Braden Shontz – DSM Christian, and Dawson Weeks of Winterset. Tee off is at 10:00 a.m. at the Red Oak Country Club.
