(Guthrie Center, IA) — Jotham Arber, the Guthrie County Director of Public Health, met with the Board of Supervisors on Tuesday concerning a number of topics.
Number one, Arber says they need to be prepared for several employees in the department that are scheduled for retirement and does not want to see a lapse in services
Number two, Arber says that October means flu shots are available, even for those who are not covered by insurance
Number three, Arber is working on a budget on the wrap around mental health plan that is being developed with new employees to be hired. Arber says they are trying to keep this program separate from Public Health
Number four, Arber says that public health is working with environmental engineers on the landfill. Arber says they are looking at the monitoring wells because there has been an increase in garbage
Arber also talked about treating animal bites in the county and is currently working on a quarterly financial report and a year end report which will be presented at a future meeting.
