(Atlantic) Rescue crews responded to Highway 71 near 22nd Street on the southeast edge of Atlantic this morning for a single-vehicle accident. The initial call went out around 7:30 this (Wednesday) morning. The vehicle was traveling northbound on Highway 71 near 22nd Street when, for unknown reasons, it left the roadway and ended up in the ditch in an unstable position on its side. Emergency personnel’s quick response prevented the vehicle from rolling onto its top, allowing the female occupant to walk away from the accident safely. No other details are available at this time.
