(Johnston) Donna Dubburke, meteorologist in charge of the National Weather Service in Johnston, appeared at Governor Reynolds’s press conference on the record flooding in northwest Iowa. Dubberke says over ten inches of rain fell this past week.
Dubburke says as the water works through the river system, so we remain in an active weather pattern. The forecast calls for periodic rain chances for the next week to ten days. Dubberke says the weather systems today and tomorrow will move quickly.
Dubberke says the water levels in the Missouri River will rise, and the Mississippi River main stem will experience significant flooding in the seven-to-ten-day time frame.
Governor Reynolds adds that the situation is severe if you get an evacuation order and residents must evacuate.
