(Iowa City, IA) – With the success that the Hawkeyes have seen this season, Iowa Head Coach Lisa Bluder has been named a semifinalist for the Werner Ladder Naismith Coach of the Year award. This award goes to the best men’s and women’s coach in college basketball whose team goes above and beyond on the hardwood.
Bluder formally was a semifinalist for the Werner Ladder Naismith Coach of the Year award last season and earned the award in 2019. She has led Iowa to its eighth straight season with 20 or more victories in her 24th season as a head coach at Iowa. Lisa currently has the longest-tenured career as head coach at Iowa and owns the most Big Ten conference wins in conference history. She has carried Iowa to 22 postseason appearances and has reached the NCAA Tournament in 14 of the last 16 seasons.
