(Atlantic) Atlantic and Creston square off in a Class 3A District 6 Football game on Friday night. The Panthers head into the week six matchup in district play at 5-0 (1-0). Atlantic is 2-3 and (1-0) in the district.
The Trojans are coming off a 20-17 win over Knoxville last week. Defensively, Atlantic held the Panthers to a stingy 17 yards on the ground.
Atlantic Head Coach Joe Brummer says the team needs to continue doing good things, and practices must improve against a good opponent, Creston, this week.
After looking over last week’s film against Knoxville, Coach Brummer had this to say.
Brummer says Creston is battle-tested.
Coach Brummer says they like to get the ball in the hands of Brennan Hayes. The senior running back has 93 carries for 651 yards and five touchdowns. Quarterback Cael Turner is completing 64.7 percent of his passes for 1,353 yards and 15 touchdowns.
The Trojans have run a balanced attack on offense, with 618 yards passing and 795 yards rushing. Zayden Parker is 39/71 passing for 547 yards and eight touchdowns. Gavin McLaren and Dante Hedrington have combined for 629 yards.
