(Sheffield) An investigation is underway after an Iowa sheriff’s deputy fatally shoots a man. The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office says a man was pointing a weapon at a vehicle and deputies in the 11 hundred block of West Gilman Street Tuesday evening. Deputies told him to drop the weapon, but the man refused. A deputy shot him once. The man died at the scene. The deputy is on leave while the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation and the Iowa State Patrol look into the shooting.
