(Creston) The Atlantic girls finished the week with a 63-33 road win over Creston on Friday night.
A stingy defense keyed the Trojans to their third consecutive win. Atlantic held Clarinda to 35 points on Tuesday, ACGC to 13 on Thursday, and Creston to 33 points on Friday. Atlantic Head Coach Dan Vargason says the defense is aggressive and working as a unit.
Maddie Richter came off the bench and led the Trojans’ offense with 16 points, including four three-point baskets.
Jada Jensen scored 13, and Aubrey Guyer finished with 10.
Vargason noted Maddie Huddleson’s two three-point baskets added to the teams five other long-range shots.
Creston 6’0 forward Doryn Paup led the Panthers with 23 of the team’s 33 points.
Atlantic led 13-9 at the end of the first quarter and pulled away, limiting the Panthers to six points in the second quarter, 11 in the third, and seven in the final frame.
