(Guthrie Co.) A Panora teen was transported to the hospital following a rollover accident in Guthrie County on Sunday.
The Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office says 16-year-old Kaidyn Dencklau was driving a 2006 Ford Fusion south on Rose Avenue at approximately 4:56 p.m. At the crest of a hill, Dencklau met a silver SUV that was left of center. Dencklau said she had to take evasive action to avoid hitting the SUV. When she swerved to the right she lost control and started to fishtail before entering the ditch on the west side of Rose Avenue. The Fusion entered the ditch where the wheel caught and the vehicle rolled over once coming to rest on its wheels. The vehicle was totaled.
Dencklau’s mother took her to the Guthrie County Hospital to be checked out.
The Sheriff’s Office also reports a Panora woman was cited for Failure to Maintain Control following a two vehicle accident on Friday.
The Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office says 26-year-old Kashley Sneller, of Panora, was driving a 2014 Chevrolet Cruze northbound on Highway 4 and failed to see a 1995 Ford Aerostar Van, driven by 81-year-old Nickolas Nolan of Redfield, stopped on Highway 4 waiting to turn left. Sneller stated she was leaning over to pick up her wallet on the passenger side of the vehicle when she rear-ended the van.
Sneller had possible minor injuries but was not transported to the hospital.
