(Sponsored) Iowans are facing serious choices about the direction of our state. Iowa has a deficit of more than $1 billion, reserve funds are being depleted, public schools rank 27th nationally, and $329 million in public tax dollars has been directed to private school education. At the same time, funding for water quality monitoring has been cut, while Iowa’s cancer rates continue to rise. Cass County has the highest cancer rate in Iowa.
A “no” vote opposes Amendment 1, thus maintaining the requirement of a simple majority vote in both chambers of the state legislature to pass a bill that would increase the individual or corporate income tax rate or create a new income tax. (Ballotpedia).
Vote YES for State candidates Taylor Wettach, for Iowa Auditor of State, John Norwood, for Iowa Treasurer of State, Chris Jones, for Iowa Secretary of Agriculture, and Nate Willems, for Iowa Attorney General. We look forward to seeing you all at the polls!
Paid for by Cass County Democrats.
