(Harlan, IA) — The Harlan Girls Tennis season begins this Friday. The Cyclones are coming off a 4-7 season in duals and are losing five seniors which means a little re loading this year. Seniors Chloe Swensen and Mariajose Guerraro Luna are the top two players coming into the season. Head Coach Michael Rueschenberg says that Swensen’s game has gotten more consistent
Rueschenberg says that Guerraro Luna has gotten more confident and is hitting the ball harder. After those two, Rueschenberg says it starts with Senior Allison Retzlaff
Rueschenberg says he needs the 4-5-6 singles players to limit their mistakes. He also says Guerraro Luna and Swensen will probably play doubles but the line up will be a work in progress in the first few matches.
In the Hawkeye Ten, Lewis and Shenandoah are leaving in addition to Red Oak and Kuemper Catholic and Carroll are now split which means there might be some opportunities. Rueschenberg, meanwhile, has some lofty goals for his girls this season
