(Des Moines) The field is set for Iowa’s Fourth District House Race, as Republican Chris McGowan will face Democrat David Dawson. Dawson advances after winning a close three-way Democratic Primary.
Chris McGowan won the G-O-P nomination unopposed. The winner of the 4th District race will take the seat being vacated by Randy Feenstra, who lost his Republican primary for Iowa governor.
District #4 includes all counties in the northwest, north central, west central, and Carroll, Crawford, Harrison, Shelby, Audubon, Pottawattamie, Mills, and Fremont in southwest Iowa.
Dawson is a two-term State Representative who grew up in small-town Iowa and knows the challenges rural families face. He says he will work to expand broadband, repair roads and bridges, strengthen family farms, make housing more affordable, and support small businesses, all to keep our communities strong.
He also highlighted his push for policies that raise wages, support working families, and crack down on corporate monopolies that hurt farmers and small business owners. He believes in an economy where hard work pays off
He also vowed to protect Social Security and Medicare so they remain strong for today’s seniors and future generations.
Veterans have fought to maintain our rights and freedoms, which are guaranteed to every American. Dawson says he opposes attempts to restrict personal freedoms, weaken voting rights, undermine equal protection, or interfere with individual property rights. He will work to ensure the government protects individual liberty, stays transparent, and remains accountable to the people, not to special interests or partisan agendas.
