(Atlantic) The Atlantic City Council approved the ninth pay application for the West 22nd Street improvement project.
The Council awarded the West 22nd Street Improvement project to TK Concrete of Council Bluffs for $1,421,207.75. Atlantic City Administration John Lund stated in the council packet that there have been no change orders to the project, so the original contract price remains the total amount to be paid. However, Dave Sturm of Snyder and Associates stated at Wednesday’s City Council meeting that, due to liquidated damages, the pay application would be considerably lower this time around.
The construction project started over six weeks later than expected. Sturm told the City Council on Wednesday that he is cautiously optimistic the West 22nd Street project will wrap up this weekend, if not early next week.
This project is a major street reconstruction running along West 22nd Street from 7th Street to Palm Street, covering roughly 0.77 miles. The work included full pavement reconstruction, grading, Stormwater and drainage improvements, ADA and curb improvements, and associated roadway infrastructure work.
