(Atlantic) During the City Council meeting on Wednesday, Atlantic Mayor Rob Clausen introduced a new incentive program to encourage residents to improve the appearance of their properties. Drawing on his childhood memories of cleaning the house for guests. Clausen said the City wishes to reward participants with a treat.
He reminisced about how his mother would often offer a treat when he helped with cleaning, and with this in mind, the City is set to provide participating residents with ice cream. The upcoming initiative encourages homeowners to tidy up their yards, complete landscaping, or improve any outdoor areas. To participate, residents will need to take before-and-after photos of their clean-up efforts and submit them to city officials for verification. Upon approval, they will receive a $20 gift certificate to Udderly Delicious.
Flyers with additional details about the program will be distributed soon. These will outline where to send photos, what types of clean-up efforts qualify, and the timeline from June 1 to June 16. Clausen expressed gratitude to Udderly Delicious, Christina Bateman, and Brocker-Karns & Karns for collaborating with the City on this incentive program, emphasizing that no taxpayer money will be used to fund the ice cream rewards.
