(Lewis) DNR Fisheries Biologist John Lorenzen reports Walleye are biting below the Lennon Mills Dam in Guthrie Center. Lorenzen warns the bite may not last long, so get over there soon if you can.
Lorenzen says anglers reported landing 10 over 20 inches in one afternoon, including multiple over 26 inches. He says the hotspot is located on the Middle Raccoon River near Guthrie Center, directly below Lake Panorama Dam.
Lorenzen says the anglers were using live minnows on 1/8 oz. jig heads, between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. The daily limit is five per angler and no size limit.
