(Guthrie Center, IA) — AC/GC hosted the Gonzales/Parrish Invitational on Thursday night and the hometown Chargers won the boys meet with 161 points ahead of IKM Manning in 2nd with 149.5. The Wolverines won the girls meet with 171.5 points while Greene County was 2nd with 140.5 and AC/GC third with 122.
Preston Kent for the Chargers was a double winner in the one mile and two mile — in the 3200 he ran a time of 10:08.51 which is a season PR by 10 seconds and is the 8th fastest time in Class 1A. Also for the Charger boys, Jack Sheeder won the Shot Put, Brexton Schneider the 110 Hurdles and they got wins in the Shuttle Hurdle and 4×800 relays.
Trevon Keely of Paton Churdan was a triple winner in the High Jump, Long Jump and 200 meter dash.
Zack Stalder of Greene County was a four time winner, taking the 100 meter dash and was part of the Sprint Medley, 4×100 and 4×200 relays.
For Audubon, Brody Schultes won the 400 Hurdles (58.56) and the Wheelers were 1st in Distance Medley (Mason Kasperbauer, Schultes, Jorgen Nowatzke, Aiden Kjergaard, 3:47.06)
For Exira EHK, Austin Rasmussen was 2nd in the 1600 (5:02.94)
In the girls meet, Caden Petersen of AC/GC won the 400 Hurdles and set a new season PR of 1:09.19 and she was 2nd in the High Jump. The Chargers were 1st in Sprint Medley (Elizabeth Drake, Tessa Slaybaugh, Lillie Lauzon, Blair Brown, 2:01.80) and 1st in Distance Medley (4:48.56).
For Audubon, Kadence Sporrer was 2nd in the 800 (2:33.49, season PR)
For Exira EHK, Taryn Petersen won the 400 (1:03.29) and was 2nd in the 200 (27.76)
Malia Clayburg of Coon Rapids Bayard was a triple winner — 100 Hurdles 15.64, season PR; High Jump 5-00; and part of the Shuttle Hurdle (Lauren Cook, Aubrey Hofbauer, Amelia Eddy, Clayburg, 1:10.58, season PR). Also for the Crusaders, Maddy Mason 1st in Discus (106-02.50) and 1st in Shot Put (37-09.50, season PR).
Becca Anderson of Greene County was a 4 time winner in the 100, 200, 4×200 and 4×400 relays.
