(Pisgah) A Moorhead man was arrested after running a tractor into several vehicles and buildings in Pisgah on Friday.
The Harrison County Sheriff’s Office says at approximately 2:16 a.m., dispatch received a call reporting someone operating a farm tractor within the city limits of Pisgah and using the tractor to damage parked vehicles and the playground equipment in the city park area. While Harrison County Deputes were responding, dispatch received another call reporting that the subject on the tractor was ramming the tractor into the garage doors at the City Hall building. A local resident arrived during this time and was able to remove the key from the ignition of the tractor, disabling it. The subject, identified at 59-year-olf Craig Arnold Hardy, then took off on foot and was apprehended by law enforcement.
During the investigation, it was discovered that Hardy had stolen the tractor from a rural property located off of Laredo Avenue approximately three miles north of the city limits of Magnolia. It is believed that Hardy then drove the stolen tractor to Pisgah and began intentionally causing damage to multiple items and properties, including motor vehicles, mailboxes, basketball poles, playground equipment, fencing, and the City Hall building. The extent of the damage is currently unknown, but preliminary estimated damages are believed to exceed over $10,000.
Hardy was transported to the Harrison County Jail and charged with Criminal Mischief 1st Degree, Theft 2nd Degree, Assault on Law Enforcement and Driving While License Barred.
