(Lenox, IA) – At the Lenox CoEd Meet on Monday evening, the Riverside boy’s track and field team finished in first overall in the meet with a total of 117 points. Behind the Bulldogs was Shenandoah with 102, Mount Ayr 76, Lenox 69, Bedford 54, and Griswold 46. In the girl’s events, Bedford finished in first with 83 points, Shenandoah in second with 80, Griswold tied for third with Mount Ayr with 75, and Southwest Valley finished in fifth with 60. Looking at the Riverside boys, they finished with a total of 117 total team points. The Bulldogs’ first-place finisher was all Dawson Henderson in the 800m run (2:07.94), Dawson Henderson in the 1600m run (4:55.00), and Henderson in the 3200m run (11:01.18). The second finishers included Grady Jeppesen in the 200m (23.61), Brody Henderson earned second in the 800m run (2:10.72), Owen Fenner in the 1600m run (4:57.97), and Brody Henderson finished off the second place finishers in the 3200m run (11:01.20). Jaxon Gordon finished off the top finishers as he finished in third in the 400m hurdles (58.87) and in the 110m hurdles (15.85). Grady Jeppesen earned seventh in the 100m dash (11.54), Cole Jeppesen earned fifth in the 200m dash (24.24), and fourth in the 400m dash (55.19). In the field events, Wyatt Bell earned fourth in the shot put (40-10.00).
In the team events, Riverside finished second in the 4x800m relay (9:27.90), second in the Sprint Medley (1:42.29), and second in the distance medley (4:05.90).
For our other local team, the Griswold Tigers featured multiple top finishers while scoring 46 team points and finished in sixth. Griswold featured Peyton Cook in second in the 110m hurdles (15.00) while also finishing in fifth in the 400m hurdles (1:00.51). Cody Dorscher finished in third in the 1600m run (5:06.50) and Holden Jensen finished fifth in the 3200m run (11:41.31). The Tigers also finished in third in the 4x100m shuttle hurdle relay in their only top-three-team event finish (1:06.79). In the field events, RJ Dishong finished in second in the shot put (43-00.50) and he finished in second in the discus throw (130-00).
On the girl’s side, the Griswold girls finished in third with a total of 75 team points. They featured Carsyn Adams in first in the 800m run (2:46.17), second in the 400m dash (1:04.14), and second in the 100m hurdles (17.47). Her sister Addison Adams finished second in the 400m hurdles (1:15.92) and third in the 100m hurdles (17.58). Marissa Askeland finished in fifth in the 800m run (2:53.33).
In the team events, the Tigers finished second in the 4x100m shuttle hurdle relay (1:14.04) and second in the 4x800m relay (12:20.68).
