(Nebraska) A state that’s already battled historic wildfires has now seen tornadoes roll through newly planted fields. Nebraska experienced several reported tornadoes over the weekend.
Producers are dealing with damaged pivots, flattened fence lines, shredded grain bins, and debris scattered throughout the newly planted cornfields and pastureland.
Nebraska farmer and former state corn checkoff board chairman Tim Scheer says the storms are another reminder of agriculture’s weather extremes. It’s not too far away from his location, where folks suffered from serious wildfires.
Volunteers from across the region showed up with trailers, side-by-sides, and work gloves to help families clear debris and begin rebuilding after Sunday’s storms.
